A few bumps in the road, as expected, but they are rather mild compared to the detours we’ve witnessed over the last nine and a half years. The liberal consensus is waging some kind of effort, but certainly nothing earthshaking. They have maintained their collective howl for the moment and have pulled from their usual bag of tricks, but it just feels very weak this time around — don’t you think?
President Trump and Elon Musk have an alliance that is churning along as planned and they are only going to ramp up efforts as the months accumulate. I suspect that no less than 80% of the federal government will be eliminated when they are through.
Some people have been disappointed that President Trump explicitly stated in an interview that JD Vance is not considered a successor. Keep in mind, that the Vice President role has traditionally been a weak power player in Washington. Personally, I think Vice President Vance is an interesting choice, but in no way do I see him as a serious candidate for President — especially not after President Trump has redefined how the role is wielded. Hopefully, as time goes on, more qualified candidates that have NOT built a typical political resumé will emerge. Americans are tired of the usual suspects.
