President Trump's Revolution of Ideas
At the moment, there are quite a few divergent opinions being circulated in DC regarding the current political situation, but despite the confusion of noise there is one thing that is very hard to refute -- the unreal depth and breadth of ideas emanating from President Trump. Never in recent memory (working within the confines of a Constitutional Republic) has one man presented in such a short time so many radically common sense ways of doing things. Let’s examine a short list of these ideas:
• Occupying the Gaza Strip and relocating one to two million Palestinians somewhere else in the region [1]
• Creating a Sovereign Wealth Fund [2]
• Sending the worst criminals in the country, both citizens and non-citizens, to foreign prisons -- including one of our own -- Guantanamo [3]
• A buyout resignation offer for federal employees who refuse to return working in-person five days a week [4]
• Shutting down US AID entirely and merging the leftover elements into the State Department [5]
• Demanding that Ukraine send us rare earth materials [6]
• Proposing that Canada become the Fifty-First State [7]
• Adding Greenland as a territory [8]
• Complete declassification of the JFK Assassination Files [9]
Some of these carry more weight than others and some are so heavy that they could be considered minor revolutions. But, all of them are so unusual compared to the typical “business as usual” approach within the slow and stuffy Washington political machine. If President Trump were only to get a little less than a handful of these accomplished it would surely be enough to define the administration as a new bellwether in politics and allow an easy ascent into another election victory, but that’s not enough this time around. No, we are just beginning to see something entirely new -- a total revolution of ideas. Gone are the days of political recycling.
Let us contrast this whirlwind of fire approach to the current path of the political left establishment -- an ideology that is presently defined by their utter bankruptcy of constructive ideas and emotional fervor. The left and their approach to doing things are very difficult to defend these days -- winning them few new followers in recent years and has lost them more than they would like to admit. Their method of operation in the last sixteen plus years has mostly been one of political camouflage -- focusing on one or two hot point issues and deflecting everything else into a barrage of slanders onto their opponent with full cooperation from the mainstream media establishment. These people just ran an entire Presidential campaign in 2024 based on abortion rights (which are still intact despite the ruling on Roe v. Wade) and everything else was directed, or misdirected, using mirages, façades and other ridiculous soundbite attacks built around President Trump. When asked anything substantial about what they had planned for the future they gave no real answers. Former Vice President Kamala Harris had virtually nothing to offer other than a continuation of truly unpopular policies that have been tremendously destructive to this country and many other places around the world.
What we are now witnessing with the new political gamesmanship of President Trump is nothing less than the complete reinvention of the very idea of modern politics and the reestablishment of the United States as the world’s only real superpower. And, what more could be expected under the circumstances? Our political establishment, on both sides of the aisle, has done little to advance the American idea for decades except drag us into senseless operations that have accomplished little but have done plenty to tarnish our reputation -- expending valuable lives, alienating significant portions of our citizenry and wasting taxpayer dollars.
A revolution in ideas is the only way forward to save this country and reverse the damage that has been done for way too long. Let us try and find ways to encourage this administration instead of getting caught up in the usual pointless squabbles that are promoted by those who really should know better by now.
